Attus Goes Green!
THE GREEN SHIRT FROM ATTUS APPAREL
Since we started Attus back in the spring of 2007, everyone has been telling us "you need to go GREEN" with our clothing line. Lots of companies seem to be going GREEN these days with eco friendly attire. Some use organic cotton, recycled or repurposed materials, bamboo, and don't forget "fair traded" garments. After doing some research we could have never imagined how much thought goes into manufacturing truly GREEN clothing. Going Green is fantastic and very mind boggling at the same time.
After tons of reading and research we found the whole GREEN process a bit too confusing. With words like petrochemical based (WTF), sustainable, genetically modified, recycling, renewable, virgin fiber, and fair trade we just could not grasp what it was all about.
Because our minds were far too small to grasp the GREEN concept we set out to make the Attus version of the GREEN shirt. We talked to countless manufacturers around the world and ended up working with a group that was pretty close to home. This group is more like an inbred tribe or family we found living in the hills of Kentucky. I would probably say that there is no GREENER tribe in America than the ones we have making our new GREEN shirt. They grow crops and crops of green plants, make their own booze, they still wear the same clothes they wore 50 years ago, they never wash, and they live off the land.
Our new GREEN shirt is constructed from a green 100 % cotton polo, with twigs, leafs, grass, and moss glued to it. Everything with exception of the twigs is green. The model shown is only a prototype. We will offer the new GREEN line in 2010. We are offering the prototype for sale for only $300. We know the price is a little steep for a proto-type but we do have lots of bills to pay like keeping the light on at the office (we keep them on pretty much 24/7, the high price of gas for our SUV's (it cost $90 bucks to fill up my stretched Escalade), the water bill (I like to take like 10 showers a day), and of course the labor to create the shirts (the shirts are made by very young children and very old people we pay 5 cents a day to work).
GO GREEN!
ATTUS APPAREL
Please note, our GREEN shirt prototype is already starting to wilt, and some of the leaves are starting to fall off. If you do happen to buy this shirt don't count on it arriving in good condition.
